PDFescape Desktop
In the Secure Tab, choose Password Security:
Check the box next to Require a Password to Open the Document.
Enter the password and then confirm it. Once you choose Apply, others will not be able to open this file unless they have the password.
When a user tries to open your file, they will encounter:
To disable the password, open the Password Security window again. Uncheck the box next to Require a Password to Open the Document, then choose Apply. Save the file and your changes will be updated.
We suggest you keep your password in a safe place. Please note we will be unable to reset the password if you forget it.
PDFescape Online
You can prevent others from opening your PDFs by password-protecting the file. When a user tries to open your files, they will encounter this message.
To restrict permission, click on the lock icon at the top of the page.
You will need to add a password. Check the Encrypt box. Enter the password and then confirm it.
When you have finished entering the password, click OK.
There is no way to recover this password should it become lost. We recommend saving it someplace safe.
