PDFescape Desktop
There are a few ways you can go about creating PDFs. This article will cover each method. You can create PDFs from other file types along with new blank documents.
When you install PDFescape Desktop, it comes with a virtual printer. Instead of printing a file to paper, the PDFescape Desktop printer creates PDFs out of other file types. A good rule of thumb is that if a file can be printed, it can be converted to PDF.
Option 1 – Drag and Drop file onto PDFescape Desktop
The quickest way to create a PDF from another file type is to drag and drop the file onto PDFescape.
- Go through your computer to your file.
- Hold down the left mouse button over the file and drag the cursor over to PDFescape (the application or the desktop icon.
- When you release the mouse button PDFescape will open and your file will become a PDF.
Option 2 – Right-Click on File
If you have many windows open and are browsing through your computer, it may not be convenient to use the first method. Instead, you can get your file to become a PDF with a few clicks.
- Right-click on your file.
- Expand the PDFescape Desktop option.
- Choose Convert to PDF.
Your file will now open as a PDF document in PDFescape.
Option 3 – Inside PDFescape Desktop
If you want to create a new PDF from another file while using PDFescape, it can be done completely inside the application.
- Open the Create Tab.
- Choose From Any File.
- Click Browse.
- Go through your computer and choose your file.
- Choose Open.
Your file will open in PDFescape and you can start working with it.
Option 4 – Brand New PDF
You can also create a new, empty PDF from scratch.
- Open the Create Tab.
- Click From Blank.

PDFescape Online
To create PDFs in PDFescape Online, click on My Account and then click Open.
You will see a window showing different ways to create files. There are 4 of them. Each option will be described below.
Option 1 – New Blank Document
This option creates a new empty PDF.
- Choose Create New PDF Document in the window that appears.
Your blank PDF will open in PDFescape Online.
Option 2 – Upload Files
This option allows you to open any PDFs. If it's not already a PDF, it will be converted to PDF when it opens.
- Click on Upload PDF to PDFescape.
- Go through your computer to your file.
- Hold down the left mouse button over the file. Move the cursor to drag the file to the Drop PDF Here box.
- When you release the mouse button, PDFescape Online will open your file.
Option 3 – From Recent Files
This option allows you to open a file that was opened in PDFescape Online once.
- Click on Load PDF Previously Opened.
- Go through your recent files.
- Choose your file.
Option 4 – From the Internet
This option allows you to open any PDFs using the URL where that PDF is hosted.
- Copy the link to the page you want to open.
- Click on Load PDF from the Internet.
- Paste the link into the field of the window that appears.
- Click Load and it will open in PDFescape Online.
